You can send and receive emails with Mind Express 5. We recommend following the steps for IMAP, which is the default configuration. If you still want to use POP, you can. The main disadvantage of the POP protocol is that the email is removed from the mail server as soon as it’s downloaded to Mind Express 4. This means the email is no longer available on other devices. We don’t recommend this if you use cloud backup or want to use your mailbox on different computers.
Hotmail POP
Step 1. In Mind Express 5, go to “Menu” > “Settings” > “E-mail and internet”.
- At “E-mail” > “Login data” fill in your login data.
- Uncheck the defaults, and enter the following settings:
Under “Login data”
Login name: enter your e-mail address.
Under “Manual settings”
Server name (in): pop-mail.outlook.com
Port: 995
Security: Yes
Server name (out): smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Security: Yes
Use settings for server (off): Yes
Step 2. Go to your Hotmail inbox in your browser (not in Mind Express) and in the top right corner go to the cog icon for settings.
Email Mind Express 4 (POP)
You can send and receive mails with Mind Express 4. If you want to connect an existing mailbox, it’s important to know that Mind Express 4 only supports the POP protocol. This protocol removes e-mail from the mail server once it has been downloaded to Mind Express 4. This means the email is no longer available on other devices.
However, some mailboxes offer the possibility to leave a copy on the mail server. This is the case for Gmail, for example. This option is enabled by default in the e-mail settings. We, therefore, recommend Gmail.
If you want to continue using your existing mailbox from another mail server, we recommend forwarding all e-mails to your new Gmail account (via the mail server settings). This way, you can use Gmail in combination with Mind Express 4 and have a copy of all existing emails in your Gmail account.

Choose the option you want.
Step 5. Browse to https://myaccount.google.com/security.
Scroll down until you reach “Signing in to Google”. Disable “Use your phone to sign in” and “2-Step Verification”.
