In this October update (5.3.0.3288) you’ll find new features and a number of fixes and improvements for existing functionality.
Overview
- Added Disney+, Facebook, Instagram, Netflix, Spotify and TikTok integrations. This allows you to do social media straight into Mind Express.
- Added Skin tone option in Document preferences. This allows you to adjust the skin color of PCS, Symbolstix, Metacom and Widgit symbols.
- Added Change skin color button in the Image selection window to adjust the skin color of individual symbols.
- Support for specifying different keyboard keys for scanning (and allow them to be used outside of Mind Express)
- Added support for translating pagesets to Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Finnish, Greek, Polish, Romanian, Ukrainian, Turkish
- Added Shadow option under Color in the Style settings to allow buttons to have a 3D button look.
- Added Freestyle (fine-grained) option under ‘Page type’ in the page settings window. This allows you to position cells on pixel level.
- Added ‘Show cell ID in edit mode’ option under Document preferences. This allows you to show cell IDs as text, as an icon or not at all.
- Added ‘Audio device’ in Auditory feedback settings. This allows you to set a different audio device (like a bluetooth speaker) for your auditory scanning.
- When adding a “Go to page” action to an empty cell, the name of the selected page will be used to fill in the cell (label and symbol).
- When adding a new page via the “Go to page” screen, you now have the option to change the name of this new page immediately.
- Added script functionality for setting default voice for different languages.
- The Google Translate button in ‘Translate text’ now translates your text immediately in Mind Express, instead of having to copy/paste yourself.
- Added Translate and Read action in Messagebox actions. This action allows you to take the contents of the message box, translate it to the language of a selected voice and read it out with that selected voice. In this way, you can quickly create a message in your own language and speak it out in another.
- Ability to specify that a web image should be searched for if no symbol is found in the “Quick Fill” (F4) function .
- Added new Whatsapp action to send an image of your message box to the conversation. This allows the receiver to see the symbols used by the user.
